Taking this moment to recap our recent CPCU chapter event, we were fortunate to have Dave Earwood, JD, CPCU, present on the topic of Product Development and Its Role in our Industry. Dave provided an in-depth look into the Product Development Team, offering a detailed breakdown of each role and their responsibilities. His presentation highlighted the dynamic nature of the team and gave us a high-level overview of the many hats they wear to keep projects moving forward.
Among the key takeaways, Dave shared valuable examples of how teams navigate compliance and state regulations, the complexities of serving as a liaison between business and technology departments, and the collaborative process with Marketing. He did a wonderful job illustrating the balancing act required to drive innovation while managing expectations and mitigating challenges.
Additionally, we had the pleasure of hearing from Allison Roling, one of our 2026 CPCU Scholarship winners. Allison graciously read her award-winning essay to the group, impressing everyone with her thoughtful insights and exemplary work. It was also a special moment to have Allison’s dad, Joe, in attendance to celebrate her achievement.
Thank you to everyone who joined and contributed to making this event a success. Looking forward to our next gathering!
